Gladys Dyck Hecht, 98 of Sun City, California passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 20, 2014. She was born Friday, January 7, 1916 in Pasadena, California, she was the daughter of the late Walter Lester Beckford and the late Lorinda Margaret Ames Beckford. Gladys worked for McDonald-Douglas as a young career woman where she worked until her retirement. She later volunteered at the Riverside County Sheriff's Department and was president of the local Crime Watch Department of Sun City for 18 years.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Paul D. Dyck whom she married in 1939, and preceded in death by her husband Frank J. Hecht whom she married in 1967. She is survived by 5 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service and scattering of her ashes at sea September 17th, 2014, weather permitting. She will be joining her son, Dennis Paul Dyck, off the coast of Catalina Island who preceded her in death on November 1, 2009.
