Grace Matteis

Grace C Matteis, 86 of Hemet, California passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021, at Christmas Cottage in Hemet, California. She was born on Thursday, July 12, 1934, and she was the daughter of the late William and the late Grace Barnes Walker. Grace was married to Donald Matteis for over 34 years before he passed away in 2000. She spent the last 20 years with her wonderful companion Greg Dennis until he passed away in February 2021. Grace loved traveling and exploring the Western United States with her family. One of her favorite spots was Yosemite National Park and the Redwood Forest. She liked to read non-fiction books and about historical figures. Her family describes her a as great story teller and during camping trips her ghost stories were infamous. She was the life of the party and just fun to be around having a great sense of humor. Grace was family oriented and she will be missed by those that knew her and loved her. Surviving are daughters, Joni Ferguson ( Eric ) and Marjorie Keel ( Rudy ), 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Services will be private at this time..
