Helen May Smith Puckett

Helen was the oldest child of parents, Ralph Edward White and Leah M Davis White. She graduated from Eastwood High School in Syracuse, New York on June 21, 1937

She married Arthur Charles Smith on July 12, 1940 and they made their home in Syracuse, New York. Where they raised four sons, Gary, Kevan, Dennis and Craig.

Helen was never afraid of hard work and she worked several jobs to help support the family. Helping her husband Art in building of several home in the Syracuse area. She also worked at Bristol Meyers Laboratory, G E Electric and JC Penney's to name a few

She also attended Beauty School and received her License in Syracuse, New York.

In 1959 the family moved to Southern California and settle in the City of Orange making a home on Almond Street. In 1961 Helen received her California Cosmetology License and open her hair salon "Helen's Beauty Salon" in Capistrano Beach. Helen for a short time work at McDonald Douglas in Long Beach and then started a cleaning business in Leisure World in Laguna.

Her husband's job with the State of California moved then to Napa Valley in 1974. Where they lived until Art retired. In 1984 they moved backed to Southern California and built their home in Yucca Valley.

With Art passing on May 19th 1986, Helen married Homer Puckett in 1989. After his passing on March 14th,1996, Helen sold her home in Yucca Valley and moved to Joshua Tree, where she lived until her passing on 10/2/2016, being of 96 years old.

She was deeply loved by her family and was always there to support, listen and help them all. Her last few years, as she suffered with Alzheimer was hard on her and her family. Especial her son, Dennis who as her caregiver gave her much love and support. The family will always be thankful for Dennis in his caring of his Mother and to allow her to live at home peacefully

She is survived her four sons, Gary Smith and spouse, Patty, Kevan Smith and spouse Betty, Craig Smith and spouse Janis and Dennis Smith. Also 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
