

He was born in Sioux City, Iowa on December 14, 1926 to Henry and Lillian Thompson. He attended Central High School. Dale was married to the love of his life, Madonna Thompson for 59 years.
He served in the Navy during WWII from 1944 to 1946. He was employed as a Dispensing Optician with Doctors' Earl, Sumner, Casserly & Michaels, Zugsmith & Michaels and later joined Fedco where he served as the manager of the Optical Department in Cerritos and Escondido. Dale and Madonna were long time parishioners of St. Philomena Catholic Church in Carson, California. They became founding members of St. Martha Catholic Church in Murrieta. Dale was a 60 year member of the Knights of Columbus, having risen to the 4th Degree at the National level. He served two stints as Grand Knight. Dale was an avid philatelist, enjoyed traveling and had a love for cooking, renowned for his spaghetti and meatballs and those delicious baked beans!
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Madonna Rose. He is survived by his children, Michael (Torrance), Catherine (Daryl, Murrieta), Kevin (Stacey, Torrance), Bill (Sioux City, Ia.) and Dennis (Shelly, Apple Valley) and his sister-in-law, Patricia Isaacson (Sioux City, Ia.). Dale leaves behind his companion of two years, Eileen Hughes. The spirit of his life was being Poppa to his 10 grandchildren, Jennifer and Kimberly (Catherine), Hillary, Jonathan and Trevor (Kevin), Donovan and Skylar (Bill) and Dillon, Jessica and Summer (Dennis).
