Hilda Bixler Johnson, 92, of Hemet, CA. died May 15, 2014. She was the eighth child of Katie Lehman and John D. Bixler, and grew up on a Mennonite farm near Kidron, Ohio. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Carl Johnson, whom she married in 1973. Hilda is survived by her sister Selma Bixler, her stepdaughter Cynthia Johnson Morse, and twenty-five nieces and nephews. Hilda graduated with a Bachelor's degree in nursing from Goshen College in 1951, and a Master's degree in nursing from UCLA in 1963, despite never having attended high school. She worked as a psychiatric nurse at Kings View Hospital in Reedley, CA during the 1950s and became an instructor of nursing at Riverside City College from 1959-1974. Hilda was a firm believer in showing God's love through her service to others. A memorial of her life will be held on Saturday, May 31st at Hemet United Methodist Church at 11:30 AM
