"Heroes"
By Mel Martin (Brother-in-law)

"What is a hero?
As a kid, I used to think that it was someone like Superman, with special powers, or technology enhanced Batman. Both fought evil with abilities they had.
But now I think a hero is one who has devoted his life to others, stretching beyond his humanity to protect society, enhance justice.
World War II Purple Heart Veteran, Law Enforcement Officer, Security Guard. Your life has been devoted to making the world more secure, more humane.
I know in my heart that, if you had been in New York on 9/11, you'd have been scraping through the rubble to find trapped survivors.
That is just who you are.
By any definition, childish or otherwise, you, Howard, are a hero."
