

Howard Carter, age 88, of Hemet, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Howard was born in Virginia, and lived in Hemet for 25 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army; he received the Theater service medal, Asiatic-Pacific Service medal, Good conduct medal and WWII Victory medal. Howard worked in the GM Automotive factory and was a member of the VFW Post 53. He enjoyed gardening, and watching his favorite baseball teams the Los Angles Dodgers and Angels. Howard will be truly missed by all who had the honor to have known and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruth; survived by children, Ben (Kathy) Carter, Dan (Roxanne) Carter, Yvonne (Ron) Medley; brothers Cecil (Lena), Clifton Carter; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Miller-Jones Mortuary, Hemet where family will receive friends on Sunday, May 22, 2011 from 4-8:00pm. Graveside service on Monday, May 23, 2011, 12:31pm, Riverside National Cemetery.
