

Inez Verdis Rogers was born on Monday, August 08, 1938 to Mr. and Mrs. Nathan and Verdis Young in Opelousas, Louisiana. Her early education began at Crawford Elementary, Smith Junior High School and Wheatley High School in Houston Texas. She then went on to further her education at Compton Community college where she studied Nursing. Shortly after, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Registered Nursing from the University of La Verne, located in Claremont, California. Mrs. Inez served as a Registered Nurse at various different hospitals. She was inspired to grace the Chino Correction Men's Prison with her nursing excellence in which she retired from in the early 2000's. Inez along with her husband Carnell Rogers eventually moved from Compton, California to Wildomar, California. Once settled into their new home, they joined Greater New Hope Baptist Church where they became faithful members. They have called this home for over 25 years. Inez joined the Usher Board where she served as the President for several years. She was a Deaconess and on the Mothers Board. She truly loved the Lord and her church. She embraced her church family and stayed faithful. Inez was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. Her favorite pastimes were traveling, being at church, working as a nurse, and spending time with her immediate family as well as her church family. Anybody who knew Inez also knew that she loved Kenny G. Inez had a joyous personality. She always helped those in need any way she could. She was a genuine loving soul. She was full of integrity, loyalty, and dedication in all areas of life. She accomplished many great things in life and will be truly missed by all who had the privileged of knowing her. The Lord called Inez home on the morning of Sunday, August 5, 2012. She served her purpose in life and the Lord missed his Angel. Inez was preceded in death by her mother, Verdis Young; her father; Nathan Young; brother, Larry Landrum; two sisters, Debra Landrum and Linda Landrum and her first son, Patrick Singleton. Inez will be missed by her soul mate Mr. Carnell Rogers who was married to her for 54 years; son, Nathan Rogers and his companion, Yonnette Rogers; daughters, Camille Smith and Julie Rogers; brother and sister, Larry Young and Verna Gilbert; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other family members, and beloved friends.
