

Jack David Lape, 72, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born on November 28, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up in Vero Beach, Florida where he attended Vero Beach High School. He was the son of Jack David Lape, Sr. and Mary C. Lape. Jack was a Captain in the Marine Corps and proudly served for 18 years. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Legal Studies. Jack retired from the Automobile Club of Southern California. Most recently Jack enjoyed working as a Volunteer for the Hemet Police Department.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Janet. His children: Jack Lape III, wife Pom and daughter, Jessica Hecklinger, husband Bob. Also his step-children: Todd Bailey, Scott Bailey, wife Christina and Cristi Peterson. Jack has 3 grandchildren and 6 step-grandchildren. Siblings James Lape, wife Dawn, Robert Lape, wife Rosanna and Dan, wife Katherine. Also, dear childhood friends Ken Parent and Bill Fine and Vero Beach classmates.
Jack enjoyed exercising, watching football on weekends, traveling, times with family, BBQs at home and had a great love for the beach and would go as often as he was able to. Also, a big Jimmy Buffet fan. Jack was positive, strong, caring, independent, fun and a little crazy. Jack is dearly loved and missed by his family and friends.
