

John "Jack" O'Brien Sr, age 79, of San Jacinto, CA, for 29 years passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 27, 2012, at his residence. Jack was born December 15, 1932 in Waltham , MA . Lived his childhood life in Osterville, Mass. Entering the United States Air Force one day after his seventeenth birthday in 1949. He served four years being honorably discharged in Dec 1953 from Mather Air Force Base. He then relocated his family to San Bernardino where he started his new career with the San Bernardino City Schools. He remained employed until his retirement 19 years later. However, retirement was short lived as He and his Lifelong friend created Shamrock Home Improvements in San Bernardino, Ca. After years of servicing the home improvement community He relocated to the San Jacinto / Hemet valley where Specialty Coatings / Specialty Group were created. He was still active with controlling and directing his business until the time of his passing.
Jack was a Korean War Veteran, life Member of Elks Lodge #836 San Bernardino where he was very active and served as a trustee, Elk of the Year, and most recent and to present the Chairman of the Board of the Building Association. His involvement in the past in Elks Lodge functions and charity events was continuous participation. Associate Member Elks Lodge #1740. Past Chairman of the Board for the Hemet/San Jacinto Chamber of Commerce as well as participation in multiple fund raising activities. Recipient of multiple awards and citations to include, Business of the year - Specialty Group, Senatorial Resolution #1359 - for selfless humanitarian contributions. In November of 2001 received a presidential recognition from President George W. Bush for his American Community Contribution during the 9 / 11 attack on American Soil.
Jack loved and is loved dearly by his family and friends and will be missed greatly. We Love You. You are forever in our hearts.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Cindy O'Brien; son John O'Brien Jr, daughter Christine & husband Robby Davidson; sister Dottie Monroe; nephew Jerry Monroe Jr., grandchildren John C. O'Brien III, Jennifer O'Brien Willie, Dana Marie Parker, Amanda O'Brien Fitak, Melissa O'Brien, Vanessa Prado, Blake Davidson, Dane Davidson, Kailyn Davidson; great grandchildren Deion, David.
Arrangements are being handled by Miller - Jones Mortuary & Crematory Hemet , 1501 W. Florida Avenue , Hemet , CA , A celebration of Jack's life will be on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA.
