James Carlyle Churchill, 91 of Hemet, California passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016, at home in Hemet, California. He was born Tuesday, September 9, 1924 in South Bend, Indiana, and was the son of Lyle and Elizabeth Bowman Churchill. James served for the US Army, WWII in the European campaign. He was married to love of his life, Mildred Churchill for 65 years before she passed away on November 13, 2015. James was a life long Oakland Raiders football fan and loved to watch every game on tv. He and Mildred played cribbage, backgammon and he loved poker. Golf and horseshoes were other games James enjoyed. He worked as a supervisor for over 19 years for the US Government. He was very handy with his hands and was an excellent cabinet maker. His family describes him as independent, caring, smart and a accomplished craftsman. Surviving are sons, James Churchill and his fiancéé Amy Williams, Richard Churchill and his wife Deborah, daughter, Judy Churchill, grandchildren Brian, Jennifer, Jamie, Jenna, James and Conner Churchill. two great grandchildren.
