

James L Goff (Jim), 86 passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016, in Hemet, CA. He was born on Wednesday, July 3, 1929 in Battle Creek Michigan. He was a pilot for the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, then had a career as an urban planner for 25 years, first for the city of Berkley, CA, then for the City of San Diego, CA, retiring as its Planning Director in 1979. From then until 1984, he represented the Daon Corporation, a land development company, before the City Council and Planning Commission of Carlsbad CA. Jim's love of gardening, carpentry and cooking led him to his second career in 1984. He and his wife, Diana Dugan, opened and operated the Strawberry Creek Inn Bed and Breakfast in Idyllwild, Ca. They retired from inn keeping in 2004, after which they enjoyed travel, family and friend, and Jim continued to pursue his gardening and cooking hobbies.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar A. Goff and Helen Boos, and his brother Edgar J. Goff.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Diana Dugan, his daughter, Michele Goff, his sons, Julien Gwyr (Stephanie), Paul Newkirk and granddaughter Kate Gwyr.
