

James E. Shockley, 71, of Hemet, CA, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2010 surrounded by his loved ones. Jim grew up in St. Louis, MO and attended McBride High School. He served in the United States Air Force and then joined the St. Louis Police Department after being honorably discharged. In 1969, he joined Trans World Airlines and held many positions including Fuel Administrator, Operations Manager, Crew Scheduler and Director of Customer Service throughout his 33 year career.
He traveled the world (going first class as often as he could) and lived with his family in various cities, including Indianapolis, Chicago, Kansas City and Seaford, NY. He and his wife moved to Hemet in 2002 where he worked for Hilton Reservations until its closing this year. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend. He had a great sense of humor and loved parties.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Michael; daughter-in-law, Meg; granddaughter, Alexandra; sister, Patricia Wohlschlaeger; and her husband John as well as many nieces and nephews.A funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 25075 Cottonwood Avenue, Moreno Valley, CA 92553, with a graveside service to follow at 1:30 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518, staging area #3.A Celebration of Life dinner will be heldat 3:30 p.m. at the Soboba Country Club, 1020 Soboba Road, San Jacinto, CA 92583.
