Every good and perfect gift is from above coming down from the Father... James 1:17 (NIV)
Jammie Lahua Erwin went to be with her Heavenly Father on October 29, 2015, at the young age of 34. She was born to Carl Anthony Erwin and Kathleen Hummel Caballero-Erwin on December 11, 1980 in Manteca, California. She attended high school in Bakersfield, California and lived in Menifee, California at the time of her passing.
Jammie was the "baby" of the family being the 10th child out of 10! She was a gift from our Heavenly Father and dearly loved by her family, friends, and everyone who knew her. Jammie had the sweetest heart and was truly the heart of our family.
Jammie had a special love for her son-Isaiah, nieces, and nephews. She was an amazing mother. She doted over Isaiah and loved, cared for and taught him in a way that only a mother would be able to understand. Because of Isaiah she was blessed with the opportunity to be a mother and to allow him to be the light of her life.
She extended her motherly love to her nieces and nephews and accepted all of them as her children. She surrounded each of them with her compassion and understanding, and even though the competition was fierce, she was the favorite aunt of every one of her nieces and nephews.
She was dependable and always available to help, wherever and whenever there was a need. This kindness touched many throughout the years and has left a lasting impact on all of us. She was caring, thoughtful, generous, and would help a stranger without a second thought. She was genuine, loyal and would never hesitate to speak the truth and although sometimes it wasn't in the kindest words it was always done with love in her heart.
She filled our lives with endless laughter and joy. She had an amazing sense of humor. She could make you laugh so hard you would cry. She spent her days with a smile on her face. Day or night, good and bad that contagious smile managed to shine through even in the worst of situations and lighten our sorrows and give us strength and hope for better days to come. She made it a point to let her son and each of her sisters, brother, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins know how much she loved them.
She was our baby sister and our hearts are truly broken, but we know that she is waiting for us in Heaven to welcome us when our Heavenly Father brings us home. Until that time, we love you and will miss you.
She believed in a higher power and knew that God moved spiritually in divine ways. She knew Jesus Christ loved her and that gave her the gift of being able to love others unconditionally. Knowing she was accepted by Christ just as she is gave her the compassion to accept others just as they are.
Jammie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother-Donald Caballero, one nephew-DJ Caballero, her brother-in-law-Walter Buford, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is survived by her son-Isaiah, special friend-Kevin Welschmeyer, 6 sisters, 2 brothers, 31 nieces and nephews, dozens of aunts, uncles and cousins, and lifelong friends-BJ, Steven, Kevin, Mike, and Leslie.
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not have to grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. for we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying " Behold the tabernacle of god is with men, and he will dwell with them and they shall be his people god himself will be with them and be their god"and god will wipe away every tear from your eyes, there shall be no death nor sorrow nor crying there shall be no pain for the former things have passed away
A Celebration of Life will be held at Camp Pendleton - San Onofre on Saturday, November 7, 2015 starting at 1 pm with a potluck lunch and an honorary Beach Bash in memoriam immediately following.
Thank you to Miller-Jones Mortuary for understanding our grief and helping us walk through this difficult time.
