Janice D Gunner

Because of her father's service in the military, the family moved from Louisiana to various parts of the United States and Europe. When the family came back from Europe, her father was stationed in Wichita Kansas where she attended school for a short time. Her father was then stationed at March Air Force Base and Janice then attended Moreno Valley High School where she graduated from in 1976. After graduation, she completed two years of college at Riverside Community College.

Her first job was working in a nursery at a daycare center. At the age of 20, Janice started working at GTE later called Verizon in telecommunications as an operator where she later retired in 2015 after working for 37 years.

She married Hilton Gunner Jr at the age of 22 on October 26th, 1980 in Riverside CA. Janice and Hilton had three children, Celena, Jason, and Adam. After Janice retired, most of her time was spent in the presence of her husband, children and three grandchildren, Isaac, Julian and Christianna which she greatly adored.

Janice truly loved life and loved it to the fullest. She loved traveling with her husband and family and chatting with her friends and family for hours at a time. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and going to the movies with her husband every weekend.

On November 1st, 2018 at the age of 60, Janice lost her battle to cancer and is now sleeping peacefully in the Lord. In her last days, she was surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren, family and close friends.

Janice is survived by her husband Hilton Gunner Jr., her three children, Celena Hernandez, Jason Gunner and Adam Gunner; son in law Matthew Hernandez, daughter in law Maribel Gunner; three grandchildren, Isaac Hernandez, Julian Hernandez, Christianna Gunner; her mother Sylvia Henninger, three siblings, Sabrina Tibbs, Cynthia Tibbs, and Jimmy Tibbs; sister in law Aleitra Tibbs, brother in law Calvin Gunner and a host of Aunts, Uncles, nephews, a niece and cousins.

We love you Janice and look forward to seeing you again.
