Surrounded by family, Janie Lou Cruise went home to be with the Lord on July 5, 2020 at her residence in Menifee, California. Janie was born on July 22, 1939 in Fort Worth, Texas to her late parents Jake M. York and Lois Rita (Renfro) York.
On May 27th, 1975, Janie married the love of her life, Richard E. Cruise, whom she spent forty-five amazing years. Janie was such a giving, loving, amazing woman who was family oriented and loved gardening, and playing the piano. She also loved traveling all over the world with her husband. Janie’s favorite holiday was Christmas and she enjoyed celebrating her loved one‘s birthdays.
Professionally, Janie rose from a retail piano salesperson at Fullerton Music to Regional Sales
Manager for the Kawaii Piano Corporation. Her territory included the states of California, Arizona, and Nevada. She was the first woman to achieve this level of responsibility for any piano company.
When she retired from piano business, Janie organized a non-profit corporation to serve
the needs of women who had become sick from having had silicone breast implants. As CEO of this organization she published periodicals and resource materials for women. In 1994, Janie was recognized by the Corona Soroptimist Club as “Woman of the Year,” in the category of “Women Helping Women.”
Janie is survived by her loving husband Richard E. Cruise, her wonderful children; Mitzi Lynne (Raymond) Reuter, Rita (Adrian) De Los Reyes, Greg Shaw and Carin (Norman) Roos, her brother Jake York, 15 beautiful grandchildren, 21 amazing great grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. Janie had a heart of gold and was a woman of God who will be truly missed.
