

Jesus Luevano Avila, 92 of Hemet, California died on June 20, 2019 at home surrounded by family. He was born on June 1, 1927 in Los Angeles, California to Victoriano Avila and Amalia Luevano. Jesus had three siblings, Lawrence Gil, Pilar Avila, and Frances Guevara. Jesus grew up in Los Angeles but at the age of 3 moved to Tijuana, Mexico where he completed his primary and secondary education. He did do some college toward pursuing a medical career.
Jesus returned to Los Angeles when he was 30. He first worked in a foundry for several years, and then worked for Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California for 33 years. He was a Groundsman and trained younger recruits on the grounds.
He is survived by 5 children, Jesus Avila (Mildred Avila) of Bakersfield, Ana Maria Avila of Bakersfield, John Nevarez (Erin Filoteo) of Concord, Beatrice Aranda (Eddie Aranda) of Santa Clarita and Steven Avila (Pauline Flores) of Los Angeles.
As well as his 23 grandchildren Jesse, Jay, Robert, Helen, Corina, Bella, Marty,
Ricky, Ray, Luis, Rebecca, Carlos, Christina, Melissa, Antonio, Sunnie, Annette (Michael), Daniel, Sarah, Cualtzin, Tequani, Quetzalli and Huentli.
And 28 great grandchildren Malaya, Kylie, Kaylie, Layla, Luis, Raylene, Jaylen, Reynaldo, Anthony, Kaleena, Kalani, Angel, Alexis, Andrea, Esmeralda, Jasmine, Juan, Jonathon, Kalob, Katalina, Angelo, Desiree, Carlos, Geovani, Melina, Delilah, Jesse and Ezra.
During his last years to his death, he was lovingly cared for by his nieces Dolores Moore, Casandria Hoyos and Angelina Ramos.
Jesus was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Beatrice Ramos Avila who passed in 2014.
A service will be held at Miller-Jones Mortuary in Hemet, California on June 28 and burial will take place on June 29 at Resurrection Cemetery and Mausoleum in Rosemead.
Jesus was an avid Los Angeles Dodgers fan and enjoyed spending time in his backyard tending to his flowers and plants.
He is loved and greatly missed by family and friend and the many who knew him.
