Joan Ellen Van Winkle, 80, of San Jacinto, California passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013, at Hemet Valley Medical Center. Joan was born Monday, October 31, 1932 in San Francisco, California, She was the daughter of the late Joseph Waterhouse and the late Erma Johnson Waterhouse.
Surviving are sons, Bobby Nemes and Steven Nemes, and daughter, Karen Wales. Joan is also survived by 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Joan was a loving, caring, honest, and dedicated woman. She enjoyed life. She enjoyed singing and was a member of the Los Concieneros singing group from the Ramona Pageant. Joan also sang in the church choir. One of her favorite pastimes in her younger days was roller skating. She loved couples skating. Her hobbies included collecting angels, knitting and crocheting. She loved people and enjoyed socializing at her church. Joan will be greatly missed by friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde L. Van Winkle and twin brother, John Ellison Waterhouse.
