She was born in beautiful Denver Colorado on June 5, 1932. She was the youngest of six children to Peter and Clara Pimpel. It was there that she developed a growing love for birds and flowers. In her adolescent years she moved with her family west and they landed in Van Nuys California. She quickly settled into her new home and established friendships with Joan, Alma, and Lucille that would last a lifetime. As fate would have it, Joan’s older brother, William Lynch, would someday become her husband.
Joann grew into a strong woman and became an amazing mother. While raising her 5 children she had a diverse work life. Whether it was working long hours cleaning apartments, managing the kitchen at Campus Crusade for Christ, or as a Senior Property Manager, she always provided for her children. Joann was always a steadfast and true believer in the Catholic faith. In her lifetime she witnessed the world change in many ways. Born during the Great Depression, she was part of a generation that learned appreciation for the small things in life and developed a strong work ethic. She was in her 20’s before she ever saw a television set and in the following two decades she would watch a man walk on the moon through that television. She saw firsthand the devastations of war, the triumph of the civil rights movement and eventually a personal computer in every home.
Joann Rita Lynch is survived by her 5 children, Kathleen, Laura, Michael, Linda, and Karen, her 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren who she loved and adored. The time she spent with her family was so cherished by her. All who knew her will remember Joann as a strong, loving, and generous woman.
A private service will be held for the family of Joann on October 6, 2020 at 11 AM at Miller-Jones mortuary 26770 Murrieta Road Sun City, CA 92586
