John Thomas Cryder

Tom was born on April 4, 1944, in Boone, Iowa to Hubert and Jeannette Cryder. Tom was one of three children. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Rosemary Cryder, brother in laws Lee Jordan and Jimmy Dayton, and is survived by sister Donna Jordan, sister-in-law Brenda Dayton, and many nieces and nephews.

Tom was married to his best friend, Ellen Maureen Cryder, known to most as “Moe” for 62 wonderful years. Together they have three children, Debbie Harjung (Bob), Pamela Hoffman, and John Cryder (Lisa). He is Grandpa to Bobby Harjung (Courtney), Kayla Ralston (Dena), Courtney Park (Dan) and Alyssa Cryder and Great Grandpa to Marissa, Presleigh and Wrigley.

Tom worked at Laura Scudder’s for 15 years and Mother’s Cookies as District Manager for 25 years. Tom was well liked and admired by all that knew him. Toms greatest joy was spending time with Moe and his entire family.

He will be remembered for his love of classic cars, especially his 1956 Ford F100 Pickup Truck and his love of Pepsi Cola. His favorite pastimes for several years were Square Dancing, going to the casino and car shows.
