John accepted Jesus on July 21, 1929. He loved to read the scriptures and loved to sing the old gospel songs.
John was a man of many talents. He served our great nation in the US Coast Guard during WWII. John was a devoted family man and very active in his community and in spreading the word of God to all he came across.
John is survived by his three daughters, Gina Weigand and Shirley Bauman, and Fern Flynn, 17 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mildred C. Coopwood of 60 years, three children, John D. Coopwood III, Beverly Nelson, and Danny Ray Clinkenbeard.
A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 9:00 am. at Miller-Jones Mortuary, 26770 Murrieta Road, Menifee, 92586. It will be followed by a church service at 11:00 am. at Menifee Bible Church 26815 Murrieta Rd., Sun City. A private interment will take place at a later date.
