

John William Hoffman, age 85, of San Jacinto, CA, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Palm Grove Health Care in Beaumont, CA. Bill was born May 16, 1928 In Los Angeles, California. He was the son of the late John William Hoffman and the late Elizabeth (Lotze) Hoffman. Bill served our country proudly during the Korean War in the Army; he was honorably discharged at the rank of T5. He got a degree in civil engineering and worked for the City of Los Angeles for many years before taking an early retirement at the age of 54. After he retired he got his contractor's license from the state of California and built several homes, including his own in Morongo Valley. He enjoyed traveling around the country and the world. He belonged to the Pacific Travel Club and enjoyed traveling in his RV, camping and collecting coins.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Verna Hoffman, two sons Eric B. Dewey-Hoffman, Ronald J. Hoffman one sister Lois Sherlock, one brother Herbert Hoffman, 11 grandchildren Jessica Lynne Dewey-Hoffman, Jessie Rose Marquez, John James Hoffman, Jubilee Dawn Gomez, Joyanna Faith Dorsey, Josiah David Hoffman, Jonathan Andrew Hoffman, Brook Elain Hoffman, Kristofer Robert Hoffman, Jewel Anne Cucjen, James Daniel Hoffman and 9 great grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Miller-Jones Mortuary & Crematory Hemet, 1501 West Florida Ave, Hemet, CA. Funeral service will be at Miller-Jones Mortuary Chapel at 11:30 AM. Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Following a graveside service at Riverside National Cemetery at 1:30 PM, in Riverside California.
