John Allen Jenks, 70, of Murrieta, California, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020, at his residence in Murrieta, California. He was born Sunday, November 27, 1949 in Montana to the late Douglas Jenks and the late Louise Ekola Jenks. John was the oldest of seven boys and graduated from Baker High School in Montana in 1967. After graduation he entered the Navy, where he honorably served four dedicated years as a Personnelman and an honorary Seabee. It was during this time that he had his first son, Douglas. John met the love of his life, Debra Jeanne Manseau, and they were married in 1982, sharing over 38 loving years and a son, David, together. He spent many years coaching David’s soccer teams and basketball teams, which allowed him to participate in one of his favorite hobbies – watching David play soccer. This hobby then carried on, as John adored watching his two grandchildren play soccer as well. John spent most of his professional life in the pharmaceutical field, but he also fulfilled a dream of his and taught high school Social Studies and Science. He was currently proud to serve as an honored Chaplain of the VFW Post 1508 in Wildomar, California. Reading and sharing the knowledge he learned was one of John’s greatest gifts, as he was full of knowledge. John was easy-going, kind-hearted, and extremely social – he never met a stranger and always saw the good in others. Most of all, John LOVED his family and enjoyed every moment with them. He was a wonderful husband and a very proud father and grandfather. John will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind his adoring wife, Debbie, two sons, Douglas and David (Melissa), two grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends. The family will be accepting friends and family for a memorial service at 12:00 PM on Sunday, February 16, 2020, at the VFW Post 1508 located at 21180 Waite Street Wildomar, California, 92595. A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 17, 2020, at Riverside National Cemetery located at 22495 Van Buren Boulevard
Riverside, California, 92518. Interment will be in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California.
