John Squire

He was born the son of the late John O'Brien Squire and Maxine Florence Squire "McAnulty" June 14th 1946 in Chanute, Ks. John was raised in Humbolt, Ks on his family's ranch. At heart he was a true cowboy who loved to ride and grew up traveling from rodeo to rodeo. He graduated Humboldt High School and attended Ft. Hays State college on a rodeo scholarship before joining the United States Army and serving in Vietnam.

After John's service to his country he relocated to California where he started Squire Electric which he owned and operated for over 30 years. He took great pride in his work and contribution to the growth of the Hemet Valley. John was instrumental in establishing and running the cattle drives from Anza to Hemet. He was an accomplished team penner and enjoyed reined cow horse competitions, team roping and training American quarter horses.

John loved spending time with his family and friends, sharing stories and telling jokes. He was quick witted and never missed an opportunity to make a smart comeback. He was an honest and straightforward man, always willing to help you in any way he could. John was a true friend and touched the lives of many people. He will be sorely missed by his family and his friends.

John is survived by his sons Sean and Blaine Squire, daughters Christina Coats and Jennifer Coats, son-in-law Evren Tumer, grandchildren Clariza, Kurt and Sinan Tumer, brother Stan (Jo Ann) Squire of Wichita, Ks, and sister Joyce Corley of El Dorado, Ks.
