

Passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019 in Wildomar, California; he was born on November 1, 1928 in Los Angeles, California to the late Joseph and Ella (Gordon) Fritsch.
Joseph proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korea Conflict. After getting out of the service he continued serving as a sergeant for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department and UPS and worked for Mrs. Keefer, repairing appliances. He was a sheriff’s reserve officer for several years. After they left La Puente and LA county, they moved to Lake Tahoe where dad worked for Cal Gas, repairing appliances and pumping propane and part-time at Brid Bridwell’s Douglas Station.
After Tahoe, they went to Temple City where he went to work for Mrs. Keefer again for a short while and then he worked at Sears for 15 years. In 77 or 78 he went to Honolulu for a while to fix appliances and then returned home and then started his own business as a manufacturer of paint and fire retardant NCFR, until he was about 75. He also worked the LA County Fair for several years. He was a proud member of the VFW, Encinitas Post and the American Legion. He loved talking about the military, loved horses and motor homing. Perhaps his greatest love in life was being with his children and grandchildren, family met so much to him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Marlene of Murrieta; his loving children and their families, Russell Fritsch, Cindy Haws and Kiki Shoup, He was preceded in death by his sons Jim Fritsch and Steven Holt. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and his sister Pat Lietz.
There will be a graveside service with military honors on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 12:30pm at Riverside National Cemetery 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, California 92518, staging area #3.
