

Joseph Michael Hopfinger Jr., 94 of San Jacinto, California passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016. He was born on Saturday, July 22, 1922 in Saarland, Germany to Joseph and Wilamena Hopfinger. Joseph is survived by his daughter, Faye Hernden, two grandchildren, Robert Hernden and Lisa (Jeremy) Dobranich, five great grandchildren, Tiffany, Alexandria, Caleb, Paige, and Braeden, one great-great grandchild, Aubree, and one sister, Helen Walter. Joseph was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Beatrice Hopfinger.
Joseph was a proud veteran who served our country honorably in the US Army during World War 2. After leaving the Army, he became an executive chef at various locations over the years, including the Beverly Hills Hotel, the Brookside Country Club in Pasadena, CA, and the Officers Club at the Long Beach Naval Base. But, aside from working, Joseph was a devoted family man. He had a wonderful sense of humor and had a determination about life which was admirable.
Joseph was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him.
A funeral mass will take place on Monday, December 12, 2016 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in San Jacinto, CA at 10am. Interment at Riverside National Cemetery will follow.
