Josephine Franklin was born on January 1, 1941. Her parents were the late Joseph and Louise Gilmore. She attended Praco High School and met Herman A. Turner (Billy). The two of them married and had four children: Rhonda Renay Cleveland, Audrey Trina Turner of Moreno Valley, CA. Herman Arvance Turner, JR (preceded her in death) and Sandra Lynette Turner of Los Angeles, CA. Shortly after the birth of her second child, the family moved to Los Angeles, CA. She lived there for thirty years before moving to Moreno Valley, CA. In 1977, she married Darrell Franklin. She has one son from this union; Darrell Maurice Franklin of Fort Collins, CO.
Josephine decided as a single mother to go back to school. She desired to make life better for herself and her children. She accomplished a career in the Aerospace industry. She promoted to inspector for Hughes Aircraft. She continued to work there until complications with her health.
Josephine was unable to be an active church member due to failing health. In the last weeks of her life, the Lord brought her back to service. There she found strength and joy which allowed her to live a more active life at the end of her days (Hallelujah!!)
On August 15, 2015 Josephine went home to be with the Lord. She leaves behind four children (one daughter-in-law, Stephanie, and one son-in-law, Kenneth); one sister: Lillie Wood of Birmingham, Ala., 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
Going Home
"I am home in heaven, ever so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
You shall rest in God's own land.
There is work still waiting for you.
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth,
You shall rest in God's own land.
When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you home!"
