Joyce (Taylor) Alvis of Hemet, passed away on September, 21,2025 , Born on October 11, 1933 in Dover, Arkansas to James Rex and Ellen Taylor. They came to Corona, California when she was about two years old and was raised in the Corona-Norco area. Joyce married Edgar Alvis on December 25, 1951 while he was home on Christmas leave from the Air Force. Edgar passed away November 10, 1985. She is survived by their three children: Cheryl Lester of Apple Valley, California, Thomas Alvis of Hemet, California and Dee Ann Alvis of Victorville, California. She has seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Her brother James Taylor passed away in 2005 and her sister Peggy Mayer passed away in May of 2023. Brother Bob Taylor passed away January 2024 and her grandson Jimmy Potter passed away October 2018.
A graveside service for Joyce will be held Friday, October 17, 2025 from 10:45 AM to 11:15 AM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518.
