

Juan Madrid, loving husband, father of three children, grandpa to five grandchildren and Po to one great-grandchild passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at the age of 80 in Murrieta, California. Juan was born September 18, 1940 in French, New Mexico to Miguel and Sofia (Sanchez) Madrid. Juan, along with his 17 brothers and sisters grew up in Springer, New Mexico. With all the challenges of a large family, the bond between all the brothers and sisters was one that has remained strong through all the seasons of life. After graduating from Springer High School, Juan joined the US Air Force from July 14, 1961-April 13, 1966. He was stationed in Okinawa, Japan during the Vietnam War and Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California. After leaving the military, Juan relocated to Southern California and began working at Magnavox Electronics in Torrance, California. It was in Manhattan Beach that he reconnected with Louella Gonzales from Raton, New Mexico. Juan and Louella were married on December 10, 1966 at American Martyrs Church in Manhattan Beach, California. Juan and Louella resided in Manhattan Beach, California. In September 1968, the day after Juan’s twenty-eighth birthday, they welcomed their first child Deanna, followed by their son Stephen in 1971 and Gregory in 1976. In 1970, Juan began working at the company he would work for 27 years, Garrett AiResearch (Allied Signal/Honeywell) and they purchased their first home on Desford Street in Carson, California and resided there until 1978. In 1978, they moved to a new home on Kinard Street in Carson and lived there until his retirement. Upon retirement, Juan and Louella moved to Hemet, California to be closer to his brothers (and later his sister) who also retired in Hemet. Juan’s greatest joys in life were family, fishing, golf, and his weekly breakfasts with his brothers. Juan is preceded in death by his parents, sister Priscilla, brothers Georgie, Pete and Benny and his son, Stephen. Juan is survived by his wife of 53 years, Louella, his daughter Deanna, son-in-law Brad, son Greg, daughter-in-law Melissa, daughter-in-law Maura, grandchildren, Cody and his wife Molly, Devin, Sophia, Aiden, Luke and great grandson Darby.
