Julius "Ben" Brunsmann, age 79 of Wildomar, California died on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. Born Thursday, January 7, 1937, in Sukabumi, Indonesia he was the son of the late Charles Brunsmann and the late Johanna Brunsmann.
Ben was just 6 years old when he and his family were taken as prisoners of war in the Japanese expansion into Dutch Indonesia during World War II. Following a brief period of freedom at the end of the war, they found themselves again interned as Dutch nationals during the Indonesian war for independance from colonial Dutch rule. Eventually, the family were able to emigrate to the Netherlands where Ben completed his education. He moved to the United States in the late 1950's. During his 32 years as a Plant Engineer, Ben worked for both Kaiser Permanente and the South Coast Plaza.
Surviving are his wife, Annell Brunsmann; three children, daughter, Paula Kidd and sons, Michael Brunsmann and Matthew Brunsmann; brothers, Fred Brunsmann, Roy Brunsmann, Frank Brunsmann and Jim Brunsmann; and 4 grandchildren.
