It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kathleen Claire Hamilton, who went home to be with the Lord on March 2, 2026, at the age of 76. Kathleen was born on October 20, 1949, in Los Angeles, California. Known to family as “KC” and childhood friends as “Kathy”, she was loved for her warm smile, friendly personality, and genuine interest in others.
Kathleen grew up in Eagle Rock, California, the daughter of a Los Angeles City firefighter Captain and a devoted stay-at-home mother. She was active on her high school drill team and proudly served as captain her senior year, often sharing the memory of performing at the Rose Bowl. In her early years, she worked as an usherette at the Music Center in Los Angeles, a job she fondly remembered. She formed lifelong friendships with Barbara Harding and Linda Beal.
Kathleen first worked as a dental assistant before beginning a career as a secretary in downtown Los Angeles. Later, after dedicating many years to raising her children, she worked as the district nurse’s secretary for the Hemet Unified School District. Kathleen considered being a wife and mother her most meaningful role, and she devoted her life to caring for her family.
She shared 51 loving years of marriage with her husband, Robert Hamilton, building a home centered on family, kindness, and time spent together.
Kathleen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, avid reader, passionate quilter, and enthusiastic participant in Jazzercise. She formed many deep friendships and had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome and loved.
In recent months, Kathleen experienced a renewed faith in God and was baptized the day before she was called home.
Kathleen is survived by her children, Eric Hamilton and Eric’s fiance Kelly Geoghegan, Jennifer Markley, Scott and Amanda Hamilton; her grandchildren, Austin, Garrett, Mia, and Sabrina; her brother-in-law Bill and Edith Hamilton; her sister-in-law Eileen Roberts; and extended family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Hamilton, her parents Fredrick and Patricia Roberts, her brother Brian Roberts, and her daughter-in-law Tricia Hamilton.
A funeral service honoring Kathleen’s life will be held Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Community Christian Church in Hemet, California.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firefighter’s Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association.
