

Kenneth Joseph Coutcher, 86 of Hemet, California, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2019. He was born on Tuesday, July 26, 1932 in Norwood, Rhode Island to his parents, Arthur and Katherine Coutcher. Ken later went on to marry the love of his life, Dorothy Joyce Coutcher, whom he spent 47 wonderful years with and always called her "Bride Dorothy". Ken and Dorothy raised their four beautiful daughters and later became both grandparents and great-grandparents. His family affectionately called him Pops/Papa. In his early years, Ken proudly served as a U.S. Navy Seaman Recruit on the USS Douglas H. Fox during the Korean War. After honorably discharging from the Navy, Ken became a distributor in the newspaper industry. He was a hard worker and loved his career so much that he didn't retire until the age of 80. Ken was a devoted, lifetime member of the both the Elks Club and the VFW. In addition, Ken spent 25 years as a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Hemet and held the position of Trustee for seven years of his membership. In his spare time, Ken loved going to casinos, outdoor activities, playing golf, and spending time with his family. When Ken would go to a casino, his game of choice was always video poker. Ken enjoyed camping and fishing with his friends and family and loved the outdoors. When Ken wasn't at the casino or camping, you could find him putting away on the golf course or rolling a strike at the bowling alley. Although Ken had so many versatile hobbies and interests, his true passion was his family. Ken was very family-oriented and devoted to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will always be remembered for the caring and loving soul that he was. He was a caregiver to all and everyone could go to him for love and support. Ken was humble, gentle, warm, and welcoming to all. He was also very patriotic and funny; in fact, his sense of fashion reflected his humor and patriotism because he enjoyed wearing t-shirts with funny sayings on them and always paired it with one of his many prized Navy hats. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Katherine Coutcher, and his daughter, Kathleen Perkins. He is survived by his wife, "Bride Dorothy", his daughters, Elaine O'Rourke, Linda Welsh, and Brenda Wooley, his brothers, Charlie Coutcher and Bobbie Coutcher, his 11 grandchildren, Steven, Susan, Kenny, Mindy, Savannah, Charles, Nicole, James, Megan, Jessica, and Timothy, as well as his 18 great-grandchildren, Steven, Sydney, Katherine, Madeline, Charles, Noah, Jaidyn, Alexys, Gibson, Adrien, Kayleen, Raquel, Gavin, Analeigh, Danni-Lane, Jonny, Jackson, and Justin. A memorial service will be held at Miller-Jones Mortuary, 1501 West Florida Avenue, Hemet, California, on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 10:30 AM. A graveside service will follow on July 24, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Riverside National Cemetery.
