

He grew up in Houston, TX where he was extremely popular in high school, a notable dancer, and wonderful friend to many. He briefly attended the University Houston before being drafted into the service. Larry decided to enlist and join the United States Air Force where he served his Country honorably.
He served bravely during the Vietnam War as a Security Police Officer. Over the next 21 years Larry would continue to provide the highest level of service for his country. Among many of his accomplishments was being in charge of security for then President Reagan multiple times when he would visit his base. Larry also completed his Bachelors and Master's degree during his time in the military. He retired with honors achieving the highest rank possible for a Non Commissioned Officer as a Chief Master Sergeant.
Upon retiring from the Air Force, Larry joined the Riverside County Sheriff's Department as a dispatcher. Over the next 18 years he would become a well-respected member of the department and becoming a valued trainer of new dispatchers.
Larry was able to completely retire in 2011 and greatly enjoyed his retirement. Never bored he built a barn (man cave) in his backyard and spent a lot of time relaxing in it. Among some of his favorite things to do were to create music play lists with his interest in all genres of music. He also became a popular online radio DJ which allowed him to share his passion of music to the world.
He was very close to his family and was someone you could always count on.
Larry passed away on December 14, 2017 peacefully in his sleep and in his favorite chair.
Mr. Gordon is survived by wife Tina, his daughter Tifanny Meehan, sons Eric and Jonathan Gordon, his grandchildren Trevor and Madison Meehan, Naomi and Riley Gordon, and Isaiah Marrotte, his sisters Patricia Harris and Martha Foster, as well cousins, nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
