Lela Augusta Hilleque, age 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2014 in Hemet, California. Lela was born on Thursday, August 14, 1924 to Glover and Inga Petersen in Wisconsin. Lela was an active member of the 4 Square Church in Hemet and volunteered whenever she was needed. She proudly worked at the San Antonio Community Hospital for more than 30 years as the Housekeeper. Lela was a huge Lakers Basketball fan, enjoyed a game of tennis, and was an avid reader. Her family was very important and she spent as much time with them as possible. Lela is survived by her daughter Sandra (Dwayne) Lubatti; daughter, Sue Turney; Son, Robert (Linda) Hilleque Jr.; grandchildren, Katie (Josh) Sutherland, Victoria (Brent) Hilleque, Gordon (Emily) Hilleque, Kyle (Stephanie) Lubatti; great grandchildren, Aubrie,Abhi, Matthew, Mari, Cody,; and her brother "Tiny" Petersen. Services will be private. Lela touched many lives and will be truly missed by all those who were honored to know her and who loved her.
