Passed away peacefully on Friday, May 12, 2017 in Riverside, California; she was born on February 17, 1921 in Lastrup, Minnesota to the late Casper and Bertha (Saskoske) Thommes.
Sue worked for the Perris Unified School District as a bus driver for 26 years. She loved to play cards, go in her motorhome camping, especially on the beach, fishing and back in the day enjoyed horseback riding with her husband. Her biggest passion in life was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter and their families, Kathy Leinen and Mary Roerig; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; her sister Marie Allen.
There will be a viewing on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 10:30am at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, with a funeral mass to follow at 11am. She will be laid to rest at Perris Valley Cemetery.
