Lila Mae Howard was born on Saturday, March 24, 1934 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to father Joseph Walker and mother Ruth Walker. She was the loving and devoted wife of James R. Howard for over 50 years. Lila devoted herself to the care of her family she always made sure their needs were met. In her spare time she enjoyed photography and oil painting. She was a dedicated member of New Hope Missionary Baptist church for more than 30 years.
On Thursday, February 14, 2013 Lila transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life. Her loving tender spirit will forever be cherished and with those she leaves behind.
Preceding her in death are both of her parents; husband James Howard and daughter Janice Langie. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Michael & Vera Howard; grandchildren, Octavia Ross, Keisha Langie, Regina Wilkinson, Amber Howard and James Howard; seven great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.
