Longina was born in Mexico on March 15, 1935, to Micaela and Abundio Rodriguez. She was the third child of eight siblings and was preceded in death by Francisco Rodriguez, Luz Morin, Alejandrina Aldape and Juanita Coronado.
Longina married at the early age of sixteen to Felipe Coronado, shortly thereafter, they immigrated to America to Donna Texas
After she married, Longina Coronado made a confession of faith to Christ at a Christian Church, and she raised her children to love the Lord and walk in His path.
In the mid 1960’s Longina and her husband moved the family from Texas to California.
Longina was the cherished mother of eight children, each of whom she loved unconditionally. Her legacy lives through her children: Armando Coronado, David Coronado, Joel Coronado, and Sam Coronado who proceeded their mother in death; remaining children: Mary Contreras, Elvia Villarreal, Phil Coronado, and Eli Coronado. She was not just a mother but a source of unwavering support, guidance and endless love for her children and families.
With a family of ten, Longina was a savvy shopper. She always managed to provide plenty to eat, clothe the family, and save for a rainy day.
Longina retired from Hemet Valley Hospital after 27 years, where she also shared the gospel to coworkers and led them to Christ. In addition to her role as a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother she had an active role in her church contributing her time, finances, and efforts to various charitable causes. Her selflessness and commitment to make a positive impact on the lives of others will be remembered fondly by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
As we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared. Her spirit will remain in the hearts of her family and friends, a beacon of inspiration and a reminder of the power of love.
