Mario Jose Gil Menendez

Mario Jose Gil Menendez was born in Guatemala on March 12, 1988 to his loving mother, Maria del Carmen Gil Menendez. Mario Jose loved adventure, so much so that in his younger days in Guatemala, for a brief time, he raced cars professionally.

Mario Jose immigrated to the United States in search of a better life. With his hard work and determination, he developed the love of cooking and tried his hand at being a chef. He was a great chef and a great kitchen manager at Havana Kitchen in Temecula, California.

As much as Mario Jose loved adventure and cooking, his greatest love was his family. His loving wife, Alejandra and his adoring children, Carlos, Josue and Jose were the light of his life. As a family, they enjoyed many wonderful trips and shared many beautiful memories.

Mario Jose was loved by all who were fortunate enough to have crossed his path. His caring demeanor and his willingness to always offer his hand for anyone in need were some of his greatest qualities.

Mario Jose Gil Menendez passed away on January 19, 2020 in Murrieta, California. Though he is greatly missed, the abundance of love he gave and all the memories shared will be held and treasured in the hearts of his family and friends.

Visitation will take place on February 6, 2020 from 5pm to 9pm at Miller-Jones Mortuary -Murrieta, at 6pm there will be a funeral service, officiated by Deacon Jose Ibarra. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martha Catholic Church on Monday, February 10, 2020 at 11:00am.
