

Martha Ann Gill- loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother- passed away after an extended illness on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Loma Linda Hospital in Loma Linda, CA. She was born in Central City, KY on April 28, 1940. Martha is survived by her husband of 60 years Henry Gill; daughter Stephanie Vaughn, husband Steve Vaughn of Menifee, CA; son Steven Gill of Sun City, CA; daughter Stacey Williams, husband Daryl Williams of Menifee, CA; daughter Starla Smith, husband Joshua Smith of Long Beach, CA. She has two grandchildren Steven Vaughn II, wife Kristina Vaughn of Long Beach, Ca; Stacia Danford, husband James Danford of Murrieta, CA. Martha is also survived by her older sister Mary Catherine Hancock who resides in South Fulton TN; brother James McFerran, wife Linda McFerran of Mohave Valley, AZ, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents James McFerran and Eva Davis, her brother John Conoway, sister Sue Kelly, nephew Mike Conoway, nephew Daniel Hancock, and sister Lynda Pill.
In 1955, the McFerran family moved to Compton, CA, where she met and married Henry in 1958. Martha was a talented aerospace microcircuit welder for 21 years; most of her career was assembling satellite computers and electronics with Hughes Aircraft in El Segundo, CA. She lived in Hawthorne, CA until she retired in 1999. She moved to Sun City, CA in 2004 to be close to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, stitchery, cooking, swimming, bicycling, watching Judge Judy, and going to the local casinos. What gave her the most joy was spending time with her family, laughing, and sharing stories at family gatherings.
