

Martin was born June 20, 1923 in Windber PA to Paul and Catherine Beechan. He passed away on April 11, 2023, two months short of his 100th birthday, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Hemet CA. His parents died when he was a young boy, so he lived with his older brothers until he was 16. He accepted Christ in 1937. He worked in the CCC camps and in the coal mines until he was drafted into the US Army. During WW 2 he was a demolition expert in Germany with the rank of Master Sargent. After the war he moved to Chicago IL and met his wife Ruth. They were married for 65 years until she passed in 2012. They moved from Chicago to Hemet CA in 1958. He worked for the Hemet Unified School District for 25 years as a custodian and a district custodial supervisor. He supported the Hemet High Football team for many years. Martin was involved with his family at the 1st Baptist Church in Hemet as a trustee, head usher, custodian and after he retired from the school district he worked at the church as a maintenance man. He made friends easily and was always there to solve problems and help others out. He taught his sons by example to have a strong work ethic.
Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, his parents, Paul & Catherine, his sisters, Betty & Christina, and his brothers, John, Steve, Mike, Paul and Sam. He is survived by his two sons, Martin (Georgia) of San Clemente, Louis (Ruth) of Riverside, his grandchildren, Martin (Alex) of Washington, Stephen (Renee) of Colorado and Katie of Colorado, and one great-grandson, Dax of Colorado.
Martin will be laid to rest in Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside , CA 92518.
