Mary Ann Waedekin passed away at the age of 86, on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, in Hemet, California. She was born to Frank Lawrence Morrow and Angelina Elizabeth (Galina) Morrow, on Wednesday, May 13, 1936, in St. Paul, Minnesota and she was one of four children.
After obtaining her Bachelor’s, she went on to become a dedicated Math teacher for 60 years. Further, in her career in education, she found a love for Soccer. Mary Ann founded the boys and girls soccer teams at Bartlesville High School, and was the first Women's Soccer Coach there. She participated in Math Conferences, and assisted in the writings of Math Textbooks around the United States.
While balancing her career, Mary Ann was also an amazing wife and dedicated mother. Mary Ann was married for 62 wonderful years to the love of her life and her best friend, James Francis Waedekin. They were blessed with four beautiful children that would later make Mary Ann a grandmother as well. Mary Ann was very active in the Village retirement community where she lived. She learned to play golf and she participated in the putting group, as well. She enjoyed the many activities that were offered, including hand and foot card game and bingo. She was a hardworking and a phenomenal woman. Her love for her family was beyond measure.
Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband, James Waedekin; her children, Margaret (Wayne) Imhoff, James D. Waedekin, Jon Waedekin, and Lynn (Troy) Reed; her grandchildren, Marissa McGrimmon, Jessi Reed, and Rebecca (Cameron) Swords; her great-grandchildren, Robin Swords and Liam McGrimmon; and her brothers, Frank (Margie) Morrow and Phil (Marcela) Morrow. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Angelina Morrow and her sister, Janine Wink.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022, at 1:00 PM, at Miller-Jones Mortuary, located on 1501 W. Florida Ave, Hemet, CA 92543.
