

Mary Ellen Ehrlich 88, of Perris CA, formerly of San Diego CA, passed away February 2, 2017. She was surrounded by her husband, Dick Ehrlich and granddaughters Wendy Ehrlich and Krystal Ehrlich-Doyle. Mary was born in La Junta, Co to Jake and Gladys Wion on March 28, 1928. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Gladys, brothers Bill, Bob and Jim Wion, her sister, Jeraldine Blackburn, and granddaughter Desiree Ehrlich. Mary is survived by her husband Dick Ehrlich, sons Richard and Jerry Ehrlich, her brother Chuck Wion, grandchildren Wendy Ehrlich, Krystal Ehrlich-Doyle, Rick and Brian Ehrlich, nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Mary attended Kearny High School in San Diego, where she was a cheerleader. She enjoyed bowling, baseball, roller skating, aerobics, belly dancing. Her proudest accomplishment was running in marathon races, which she began running in her sixties, seventies, and early eighties. She ran races throughout the United States and Canada, and won several medals and awards.
She and her husband cruised from several ports of call in the United States and abroad. Mary was an active member of her church and she loved teaching the little children. She knew many bible verses and loved the church members. Mary will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at Temple Baptist Church, 745 N. Perris Blvd, Perris CA on February 9th at 10:00am. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in San Diego CA, by Miller-Jones Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Valleys, 25240 Handcock Avenue, Suite 120, Murrieta CA, 92562. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the wonderful staff at Hospice of the Valleys. Their support and love for Mary cannot be expressed in words. We also wish to thank Miller-Jones Mortuary for their kindness in arranging the burial services.
