

Mary Ellen graduated from high school in Wakonda, South Dakota; she then graduated from Mitchell Business College, in Mitchell, South Dakota. She worked in the purchasing department for the state of South Dakota. She married her husband Herbert Rowley, in August of 1939. They moved to Colton, California, to start a family and a dairy business named Blue Mountain Dairy in Colton; they supplied milk for all the local schools in the area. They ran the dairy for 35 years. They were also founders of the Colton Community Church. They relocated to Sun City, California, in 1997. Mary Ellen was a member of Menifee Bible Church, which was a very important part of her life here in Sun City. She was also a member of the South Dakota Club and the Genealogy Club.
Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her husband Herbert in 2001. She is survived by her children, Norman Rowley and Elaine Giometti; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
