Matthew Early Morton

Matthew Early Morton-ACK U.S. Marine Corp, of Hemet, CA was born August 2, 1924 in Genesee TWP, MI to Early E. and Grace P. (Cook) Morton, and left this life April 15, 2012, at the age of 87 surrounded by his family.

Matt moved his family to the Inland Empire the summer of 1960. Matt retired from Alpha Beta in 1989 after 17 years of service.

Survived by two sons Mark (Charlotte) Morton of Sun City, Rodney (Lucia) Morton of Wadsworth, OH; three daughters, Holly (Robert) LaFrance of Rancho Cucamonga, Bethany (Gary) Todd of Cottage Grove, OR and Lisa Morton of Springfield, OR; one sister Barbara (Wayne) Dunning of Kingsley, MI; companion Diane Jenne of Hemet; ten grandchildren, Todd Morton and Karrie Howard, Desirey Cruz, Rodney, Joseph and Nicole Morton, Alyssa Young and Raya Friesen, Christina Maddox and Eric Todd; thirteen great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by wife, Joyce Morton, grand son Peter Matthew Cruz, 9 brothers and one sister.

We are eternally grateful for the years of love and nurturing and sharing of his life with us and for laying the foundation for us to become the individuals we are today. He is the family hero.
