Mattie Griffin Calinsky, age 98, of Hemet, CA, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at Sun West Village in Hemet, CA. Mattie was born May 31, 1915 in Lincoln, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late James Andrew Griffin and the late Fannie Mae (Fain) Griffin. Mattie was a sales manager for Forest Lawn Mortuary for 15 years. Prior to that she worked at Douglas Aircraft during WWII as an inspector. She belong to the Lady Elks club, Emblem Club, Delta Bheta TAU Chapter. She also enjoyed to play bridge, read and gardening. She was a member of the Methodist church. She was preceded in death by her first husband Jack Buntin and her second husband Andrew Calinsky.
She is survived by her two sons: Charles Lee, San Diego, CA, John Allen Lee, Lincoln, CA, one sister: Frances O'Hare, Hemet, CA, one brother: Carl Griffin, Hemet, CA, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Miller-Jones Mortuary & Crematory Hemet, 1501 West Florida Ave, Hemet, CA. Interment will be private at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery, San Jacinto, CA.
