

Maxine Holliday went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, from the hospital in Riverside, California, at the age of 80. She was born to the late John W. and the late Pearline S. (Nichols) Pentecost, in Tyler, Texas, on Friday, November 4, 1938.
Maxine was married to and is survived by the love of her life, her best friend, Clarence R. Holliday, for 46 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pearline Pentecost; and her sister, Janet Mays; Maxine is survived by her 2 nephews, Arthur and Brenton; 10 siblings, John Pentecost, Leroy Pentecost, Enois Pentecost, Dell Pentecost, John Paul Pentecost, Jesse Pentecost, Pearlie Richards, Daisy Shaw, Cleo McKinney, and Marie Pentecost; 2 step-children, Darryl Holliday and Jalene Edgerton; 2 step-grandchildren; and 4 step-great-grandchildren.
Maxine was the first born of 11 children. She was faithful to the church for 60 + years, in different ministries. She enjoyed talking to people about her faith. Her love for others has touched and greatly influenced so many lives. Maxine was a loving, caring, and kind soul. Everyone that would leave her house after a visit, would leave with a special gift from her. Her dedication to the prison ministry, through Friends & Associates, has impacted many souls. She never missed sending birthday and Christmas cards to everyone. Maxine enjoyed the countryside, shopping, and animal prints. She was a long time member for the Hemet Women’s Club. Maxine will be missed by all that knew her and loved her.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2019, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM, at Miller-Jones Mortuary, located at 165 W. 7th St, San Jacinto, CA. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019, at 10:00 AM, at Hemet United Methodist Church, located 530 S. Buena Vista St, Hemet, CA. A Graveside Service will follow at San Jacinto Cemetery, located at 2555 S. Santa Fe, San Jacinto, CA.
