Merna Marguerite Youngman

Surrounded by family, Merna M. Youngman, 90, passed away on September 22, 2026, at her home in Hemet, California. Merna was born on March 23, 1936, in Yampa, Colorado, to her late father Ivy Kelsay, and late mother Bernice (Albin) Kelsay. Also, preceded in death by her husband Donald E. Youngman, siblings Donald G. Kelsay, Glen A. Kelsay, Ivan F. Kelsay and Ronald K. Kelsay and grandchild Brockton G. Youngman.

Merna was a wonderful woman who loved, cherished, and adored her family to the fullest. She was an amazing wife and friend to her wonderful husband (d. 2019) whom she married on September 1, 1956, and spent sixty-two wonderful years together.

Merna loved cooking, gardening, sewing and taking care of her home. A woman of strong Christian faith as well as active in the church until her health declined.

She is survived by her children; Pearl Gonzalez (Albino), Daniel Youngman (Deborah), Barbara Jordan, her siblings; Ida L (Kelsay) Holmbeck, Paul L. Kelsay (Peggy) and Doris V. (Kelsay) O’Grady. Merna is also survived by seven amazing grandchildren; Jesse Gonzalez (Michelle), Branden Youngman (Yiqing), Brianna Markgraf (Evan), Brion Youngman, Chelsey Jordan, Ciera (Jordan) Bruns (Eric), Caitlin Jordan-Alvaraz (Alex), fourteen great-grandchildren; Isaac and Misha Youngman, Liam, Elijah and Abigail Markgraf, Dawson, Charlotte, Ozella, Timothy and Israel Alvarez, Kingston and Ivy Gonzalez, Ezekiel Smadi and Elijah Godek. Merna was an extraordinary wife, mother, sister, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and great aunt who will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
