

Norma Jean Ward, age 82, of Hemet, CA, passed away Friday, September 7, 2012, in Hemet, CA. Norma was born January 11, 1930 in Carbon, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late Asbury Leora Mitchell and the late Myrtle (Hobbs) Mitchell. She was a Certified Nurses Assistant for 35 years. Norma was also a great cook, she worked and managed the Griff's Restaurant in Hemet, and she was a manager for Wawona Lodge Motel in Big Bear. She also ran the Hemet Merchants Baseball Players in Hemet back in the mid seventy's. Norma lived in Hemet most of her life, some of the other cities that she lived in where Big Bear, Tarzana and Lake Elsinore. She was a cook for the Hemet Elks Lodge for sometime as well. One of her hobbies includes collecting dolls, she really loved animals but most of all she was a very giving person who would always lend a helping hand where it was needed.
She was preceded in death by her 4 sisters and 4 brothers. She is survived by her companion of 22 years J.C. Meyers her children; Iona Stacy, Fort Worth, TX; Diana (Les) Winters, Conroe, TX; Theresa (John) Hancock LaVerkin, UT; Wayne Richardson, Hemet, CA; Gary (Adrienne) Richardson, Crowley, TX; Kai Jensen, Seattle, WA. 10 Grand Children; 17 Great-Grand Children; and 4 Great-Great-Grand Children.
