

Olivia Jane Harris, 73, of Hemet, passed away at Hemet Valley Medical Center on the night of Saturday April 13, 2013. Jane was born in Haskell, Texas on January 11, 1940 and was the middle child of Nola Adkins and Troy Turpen. Jane graduated from Midland High School in Midland, Texas in 1958 and shortly thereafter decided on becoming beautician, a career that lasted her lifetime, proudly maintaining her cosmetology license even after retirement. In June, 1966 Jane married a tried and true Texas cowboy, Bob Harris and together they raised 2 children, Lynn and Wynn. Bob's career as a horse ranch manager led them to Florida, Tennessee and finally to Hemet, California where they settled in 1980. Bob and Jane were married for 39 years until his passing in 2006. Jane was also preceeded in death by her brother Charles and sister June. Jane is survived by her 2 children and their families: Lynn Harris Garcia, her husband Raymond and their children, Tomas, Victoria and Alexander of Spring Creek, Nevada and Wynn Harris and his partner Crist P. Thomas of Hemet, California. Jane is also survived by her sister-in-law Aiko Turpen of Fair Oaks, California and her sister-in-law and brother-in law Fern Harris Biddy and Rex Biddy of Manhattan, Montana. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in the name of Olivia Jane Harris be made to the American Diabetes Assn. or the Women's Heart Health research division of the American Heart Association.
