November 27, 1938 – October 6, 2026
Paul Albert Worley, 87, passed away on October 6, 2026, in Riverside, California.
Born in Bristol, Virginia, Paul graduated from Carter High School in Strawberry Plains, Tennessee. As a young man he hitchhiked to California, where he married Phebe and began a family. He soon took a job in oil production with Chevron.
The couple settled in Hawthorne, where Paul owned and operated a bicycle shop and spent many years coaching youth sports.
After retiring from Chevron in 1992, he kept working and stayed closely involved in the lives of his grandchildren. He later moved to Hemet, where he once again became active in coaching and administering youth sports.
He was a lifelong Tennessee Volunteers fan, and anyone who met him will remember his knack for making up a song for any situation, no matter how random.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phebe; his son, Paul "Kip"; his parents, Walter and Ossie Belle; and his siblings, Gladys, Virgie, Kyle, Louise, Eileen, and Walter "Buddy."
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy; his grandchildren, Sara, Tyler, Jacob, and Alexys; his great-grandchildren, Jaden, Sophia, Axel, and Ace; and many other family members and friends.
No services are planned at this time. Final interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
